Myob Accountedge 2008 for Mac Also Includes Network Edition Immediately


I have used account edge for the mac for 18 yrs.
This past February I upgraded to v 2010 for a very expensive price as I needed the tax tables and there is no other way to get them. I am very familiar with the program and always optimize and verify the data along with a daily back up to an external drive. After a weeks use I began getting a 1032 termination message when I tried to verify the data or use features in the card file.Some buttons stopped working with the mouse, but still worked with the enter key. In as much as the so called upgrade was only a couple weeks old I called tech support. The guy had no idea what to do and suggested that I verify and optimize the file!!!! His second suggestion was to use the back up from from the day before. Hey a GOOD IDEA, well I restored the backup it also became corrupted. I then tried to open another back up a day earlier and the same event occurred. Note that I am losing an entire days worth of bookkeeping entries as he continues instruct me to continue to open back up file after back up file that had been verified good by the program the day before.

Finally, he says that the data must be corrupted and that I need to send my bookkeeping file to them. The minimum charge would 200.00 to take a look at and at they would work on it until the cost reached 400.00 at which tie they would stop and ask me if I wanted them to continue to work on the file, no cost ceiling or even a guarantee that they could fix it. He also advised that this could reoccur at anytime and the cost and terms of the tech repair would be the same.

My sense was that was trained to offer the tech support service over offering any real solutions to the problem. I then reinstalled the program and the files will now verify as being error free. Some of The buttons still do not work with the mouse. I contacted customer service hoping to get some service. But they advised me that it might be my computer, which is unlikely as it a brand new mac mini only a couple of week use on it and is running all other programs great. Interesting the tech expert stated that there was no way it was my computer. They also said no one knows what causes data errors and that they have a policy for tech support that starts at 200.00 to repair files. Sound familiar? I was also told that it could not be the program because no one else was having problems with it. I was the only person with an issue. Tech support also stated that I could just use the program this that that would be fine and not a problem. ????

I was advised that I could return the program which is a problem as well as it would be very difficult to be able to renter that much data. payroll and inventory etc accurately. I also emailed tech support this new info on my problem and mot surprisingly there has been no response at all.
