Quicken 2007 Deluxe

I have been using Qucken since 1996 where I found the benfits to be well worth the price for the program.

This product is great for anyone who wants to get their financial picture in order and get a jump on their income taxes. This is a totally customizable program which allows fro the greatest of ease. This synthizes well with your previous years editions no matter how long ago you perchased the program.

It is easy and you don't need an accounting degree to operate it. It walks you Through everything. You can even pick up at any library and use the last years book to run it for more detail information.

If you are new to quicken, it is great to help you keep track of everything from stocks, to paychecks, to investments, bills, credit cards, anything. You can create categories, add new accounts and enter ongoing repeated events such as your paycheck. You can assign a tax status, create sub accounts and split transaction for better documentation. Most can be done on the "fly" in the regesters for greater ease.

While the paycheck feature is still in its infancy (for 10 years), it does not allow an hourly employee to enter the hourly wage; hours worked or overtime information which makes it a pain to enter these amounts. Don't let this discourage you though, it is still complete. I like how you can track your investment and your net worth. The get out of debt feature is realistic if you stick to the plan and very helpful.

Quicken allows you set and view your budget and even set parameters to warn you whether you are over budget or under budget. This is a great feature to keep you on target. This gives you an accurate picture of your financial status on a daily basis. The reports are easy to read and understand.

The calendar feature is great because it tells you when items are due, pay date and other information. The automatic reminder system is the best help so you don't forget when those important bills that are due.

You can download you bank statements, credit card statements, stock information and loan information for even grater ease. I like the new feature where you can scan documents directly to the line item it references so if you are ever audited or need the information, it is right there for you. This makes record keeping easy and kills the paper tiger. You don't have to go looking in a file for it. When we started this, our household paper work was reduce and actually helped us clean up our house.

The new features (from my 2004 edition) were significant and made a real difference in the way we do our finances.

I would recommend this to any one who needs to get organized and financially fit.
